Description:We the udersigned believe that the decision to close respite care units in Suffolk, causing a increased demand on the remaining centres is detrimental to the care provison for learning disability adults and the health of their carers. Families will not be able to access the level of respite care to which they are entitled.The decison was flawed and based on deliberate manipulation of figures representing historical usage and leads to illegal treatment of LD adults by Suffolk County Council. The decision should be overturned before it has irretrievable consequences for the family carers.
