Description:After years of spending large amounts of council tax on providing lavish services for elements of the criminal underclass in the hope of persuading them to change their lifestyle voluntarily, often done by quietly transferring funds to charities, the council must acknowledge that this policy is not only not working but can no longer be justified when all other services are facing cuts. The welfare of the law abiding public is being ignored while we continue to live in fear of vandalism, and intimidation and attacks by drunks and worse in the town centres. The council needs to drastically revise its attitude towards these issues and focus on the arrest and prosecution of those who commit crimes.
