Description:It is sad that a planning application has been submitted for a 25 metre high (blade to tip) wind turbine to be erected in the field adjacent to Otley Hall. 350 metres is too close to a Grade 1 listed property of national historical and architectural significance. The structure will be visible from the Hall and its gardens.
Otley Hall attracts over 1000 visitors a year. Many people attend its "Quiet Days” and “Open days". Its gardens are listed in The Independent "Top 50 Best British Gardens to Visit". Supporting information states that only 13% of households surveyed in the village wanted a turbine erected on this site. The vista is a beautiful and far-reaching rural one, with views of fields and Helmingham Church.
